CARTA, the visualisation software that is developed by IDIA and partners from the Academia Sinica Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics (ASIAA), the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) and the Department of Physics, University of Alberta. CARTA has been nominated by one of its users for the ADASS Prize “An oustanding contribution to astronomical software“. ADASS stands for Astronomical Data Analysis Software and Systems and is a conference series held each year at a different hosting astronomical institution. The conference provides a forum for scientists and programmers concerned with algorithms, software and software systems employed in the acquisition, reduction, analysis, and dissemination of astronomical data.
The Program Organizing Committee of ADASS will review the nominations and descriptions and determine the winner. The winning software author, or a representative of the winning team, will be invited to give a talk at ADASS this year, have their ADASS conference fee waived, and receive a plaque.
The 2021 ADASS meeting will take place in Cape Town and online on 24 – 28 October 2021. You can pre-register for ADASS on the conference website. But whether you are attending the conference or not, you can upvote the comments and features of CARTA on this ADASS webpage.
