The Western Cape is host to many science engagement initiatives. From University community outreach to non-profits, private citizens and organisations engage with the public and use science and technology to stimulate development. While everyone is busy running those programmes, there is yet to be a forum for practitioners of science and technology engagement and development to come together and share their work.
The Inter-University Institute for Data Intensive Astronomy (IDIA) and UWC are starting a new seminar series to address this gap. The inaugural talk of the Science Engagement And Development Seminar (SEADS) series will take place this Friday, June 14, 2019 at 11:30am in Room 1.35, first floor, Physics and Astronomy Department.
The intended audience is meant to be diverse: Anyone interested in community engagement, science outreach, education, development and more is welcome. We especially welcome interested students.
