Prof. Sunil Maharaj is the Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and IT at the University of Pretoria. Prof. Maharaj holds a MEng in Electronic Engineering (University of KwaZulu Natal), an MSc in Operational Telecommunications (Coventry University) and a PhD in Electronic Engineering (University of Pretoria) with specialisation in wireless communications. He is a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) and a Fellow of the South African Academy of Engineering (SAAE). Prof Maharaj is also the SENTECH Chair in Broadband Wireless Multimedia Communications (BWMC) in the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering. Prof. Sunil Maharaj also serves on the National Broadband Advisory Council for the Department of Telecommunications and Postal Services.
